# What You’ll Need:

→ Meats

01 - 8 pork or beef sausages (about 1.3 lbs)

→ BBQ Sauce

02 - 1/2 cup barbecue sauce, your choice
03 - 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
04 - 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
05 - 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
06 - 1 tsp smoked paprika
07 - 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

→ Garnish & Serving

08 - Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish
09 - Soft rolls or toasted buns
10 - Sliced onions and pickles

# Directions:

01 - Preheat grill to medium heat, approximately 350–400°F.
02 - In a small bowl, combine the barbecue sauce, honey or brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, and black pepper, stirring until smooth.
03 - Place sausages on the preheated grill. Cook for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until evenly browned and nearly cooked through.
04 - Brush sausages generously with the prepared sauce mixture. Continue grilling for an additional 2–3 minutes, turning as needed, until the glaze is caramelized and the sausages are fully cooked.
05 - Remove sausages from the grill and let rest for 2 minutes. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley, and accompanied by soft rolls, sliced onions, and pickles if desired.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The homemade glaze takes five minutes but makes people think you have been perfecting it for years
  • It works with literally any sausage you have, so you never need a special shopping trip
02 -
  • Brushing on the glaze too early will cause the sugars to burn long before the sausages are cooked through
  • Soaked wood chips tucked under the grate add a real smokehouse quality that no amount of paprika can fully replicate
03 -
  • If your barbecue sauce is very thick, stir in a splash of water or apple juice before brushing so it spreads instead of clumping
  • Let the glaze cook on the sausage for at least a full minute on each side before turning, otherwise it will not get that tacky caramelized finish
